The Detroit Pistons announced that its Tipoff Tour will come to International Park in East Toledo September 18.
The tour will include Pistons Coach Michael Curry, Vice President of Basketball Operations Scott Perry, guards Rodney Stuckey and Arron Afflalo and broadcasters George Blaha and Greg Kelser.
The International Park stop is the final one for the two-day tour and will occur from 3-6 p.m. The Pistons’ dance team “Automotion” will perform along with appearances by team mascot “Hooper” and the “Palace Patrol.”
Kelser will host a short program previewing the upcoming season with Curry, Stuckey, and Afflalo addressing the crowd. In addition to the opportunity to win Pistons t-shirts and prizes, the traveling party will be on hand to sign autographs and take pictures at the event. The event is free and open to the public.
The other stops are in Michigan, including Lansing and Grand Rapids on September 17, and Midland and Flint on September 18.
Area residents are invited to participate in the Owens Community College Sixth Annual Golf Classic in support of alumni programs and scholarships September 29 at Belmont Country Club, beginning with lunch at 11:30 a.m., a golf demonstration at 1 p.m., and a shotgun start at 1:30 p.m. Dinner will occur at 6 p.m. Tournament is limited 30 foursomes.
