Lake sophomore midfielder Shelby Antonacci and Woodmore junior attacker Taylor Avers have been named Suburban Lakes League girls soccer Co-Players of the Year.

Lake senior attacker Bryant Philo is POY in boys soccer, and
in SLL volleyball, Eastwood senior setter Katie Primeau is POY.
Lake girls won the league soccer championship with an 8-0 record, followed by Genoa and Woodmore, who are co-runners-up at 5-3, followed by Eastwood (2-6) and Otsego (0-8). In the district tournament, Genoa defeated Lake in a semifinal, and Genoa was defeated in the final.
In boys soccer, Eastwood won the title with a 6-1-1 record, Lake was runner-up at 6-2, followed by Woodmore (3-4-1), Genoa (2-5-1), and Otsego (1-6-1). The Lake boys reached the district final.
Eastwood and Genoa were co-champions in volleyball at 11-1, Lake was third at 7-5, followed by Woodmore, Elmwood, and Otsego all at 4-8, and Gibsonburg at 1-11. Eastwood was defeated in five sets by Celina in the Division II district final at Liberty-Benton, and Genoa was eliminated in the D-III district final.
Boys’ soccer Local boys’ soccer first team selections include at the defender position Eastwood senior Ryan Sieving, Genoa senior Trey Schober, Lake senior Nick McCarthy, and Woodmore senior Brian Alexander. At midfield is Eastwood senior Patrick Brogan, Genoa senior Troy Nissen, Lake senior Drew Metz, and Woodmore sophomore Danny Bowen. At attacker is Philo, Eastwood senior Sasha Ashton, and Woodmore freshman Malacchi Brown. Eastwood senior Aaron Brinker is the first team goalkeeper.
Second team selections at defender are Eastwood senior John Przybylski and Lake senior Rickey Cox, at midfield is Eastwood senior Taylor Depew, Lake sophomore Austin Hall, and Woodmore junior Travis Moenter, at attacker is Eastwood junior Caleb Vespi and Genoa senior Isaac St. Marie. Second team goalkeeper is Woodmore sophomore Ryan Paul.

AT attacker is Avers, Genoa junior Rachel Albright, and Genoa senior Olivia Reeder, who set a school record for goals scored this year. Genoa senior Kayla Pickard is the first team goalkeeper.
