goal of her collegiate soccer career an important one as she scored in the 40th minute.
It was the only goal of the game as Heidelberg defeated Defiance 1-0. Senior Carolyn Cross (Centerville) provided the assist “with an excellent cross from the near side of the field,” said Heidelberg coaches.
Heidelberg, under the guidance of fifth-year head coach Nick Spell, matched its win total from last year with the win over Defiance. Heidelberg is off to its best start since Hamons arrived as a freshman.
The Berg improves to 7-3, while the Lady Jackets fall to 2-4-2 on the season. For the game, Heidelberg held a 14-7 shot advantage over the Lady Jackets.

Her freshman season, she started 16 of 17 games played in, led the team with two assists, and recorded one assist against Huntington and one against Mount Union.
