Ohio Diamond Hawks (11u) shortstop Christian Orr, an Oregon resident, was named the Great Lakes Ultimate World Series Most Valuable Player. Orr who led the team to its second consecutive Nations Baseball State Champions and the nationally-ranked Ohio Diamond Hawks in the regular season with a .525 batting average in 49 games delivered several key game winning hits to help his team win the 2010 Great Lakes Ultimate World Series. Orr went 6-for-11 in the tournament and showed consistent defense with 15 putouts from his shortstop position with no errors. Orr also closed out the championship game from the mound as he retired the side three-up, three-down, solidifying the Nations Ultimate World Series. The tournament umpires and director chose Orr to the All-Tournament Team. Orr was also selected to play on the Northwest Ohio All-Star Team which won the Bowling Green 12U All Star Tournament in July. Orr has been a batboy at the NABF College World Series in Toledo and is entering sixth grade at Fassett Middle School.
