Eastwood senior first baseman and pitcher Clay Rolf has been named the Suburban

Lakes League Player of the Year. Rolf is headed to Bowling Green State University on a football scholarship, but has not ruled out playing baseball also.
Joining the 6-foot-7 baseball pitcher in top league accolades is Walsh University-bound Clay senior second baseman Eryn Simon, who earned the same honor from Toledo City League softball coaches.
Simon’s teammate, Owens Community College-bound senior pitcher Kasey Graham, is CL Pitcher of the Year and Clay coach Brenda Radabaugh is Coach of the Year.
Joining Simon and Graham on the CL First Team is Clay catcher Sarah Stibaner and outfielders Kim Crawford and Danielle Holmes. Clay finished the season with a 24-5 record repeated as City champs.
On the CL Second Team are Clay second baseman Cassi Laberdee and infielder Hallie Thompson. Eagle honorable mention choices are Brooke Thompson and Miranda Cortez.
Rolf is joined on the SLL First Team from the area are Lake sophomore outfielder Ryan Kohlhofer, Gibsonburg sophomore outfielder Gage Beaber, Genoa senior second baseman Matt Bassitt, Lake sophomore second baseman Josh Tantari, Lake senior designated hitter and utility player Ryan Hotmer, Gibsonburg junior catcher Brett Diekman, and Genoa senior pitcher Connor Wendt.

Elmwood, coached by Eastwood graduate and former Bowling Green Falcon baseball player Kyle Reiser, won the SLL title and qualified for the Division III regional tournament. The Royal softball team , led by junior catcher Morgan Arnold, the league POY, also won an SLL title.
