The East Toledo Family Center is gearing up towards its Renaissance Gala. This year, the theme is “Black and White Ball” and proceeds assist with youth athletic programs.
 
Each year, nearly 1,000 youth in grades K-12 participate in summer ball, basketball, cheerleading, and golf. The gala is April 24 beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the Glass City Boardwalk in Moline.

Distinguished Citizen, East Toledo Educator of the Year, and Warren Densmore scholarship winners will be introduced by honorary chair person Chrys Peterson. The Cake Walkin’ Jazz Band will provide entertainment and various auctions will be available. Single tickets are $55 and couple’s are $100. Call the ETFC at 419-691-1429.

The East Toledo Family Center will be registered youth summer leagues beginning April 5. Leagues include t-ball for ages 4-6, coach’s pitch for ages 7-9, instructional boys baseball and girls softball for 12 and under, and boys baseball and girls softball for 17 and under, Register at the ETFC. Scholarships are available due to a grant from the Toledo Community Foundation. Practices begin at the end of May and games start in mid-June. Call Danielle Ankenbrandt at 419-691-1429.

Walbridge pre-season baseball tournaments for 12 and 14 and under age groups will begin April 21. A 10 and under tournament is scheduled for May 27. Entry fee is $150 plus umpires. Call Jim Mass at 419-787-1003.
