Genoa baseball pitcher Connor Wendt and Woodmore softball pitcher Sami Michaelis have been chosen as their respective Players of the Year by the Suburban Lakes League. Wendt shares his POY honor with Elmwood shortstop Reid Rothenbuhler.

After the conclusion of spring sports, Eastwood won both the boys and girls All-Sports Trophies for the school year. In the boys, Eastwood was followed by runner-up Genoa, then Elmwood, Woodmore, Otsego, Gibsonburg, Lakota, and Lake. In the girls, Eastwood was followed by runner-up Otsego, then Woodmore, Genoa, Lake, Elmwood, Gibsonburg, and Lakota.

The Genoa Comets, SLL champions in baseball with a perfect league record, have four players on the first team. Eastwood, first-time SLL champions in softball, led the league with five selections.

Local first team All-SLL baseball selections include Wendt, Rothenbuhler, sophomore OF Seth Dufendock (Genoa) and Brett Diekman (Gibsonburg), senior 1B Greg Hillabrand (Genoa), senior 2B Zach Apel (Genoa), junior DH/utility player Clay Rolf (Eastwood), and senior C Pat Cantrell (Gibsonburg).

Local second team baseball picks are outfielders Woodmore senior Jack Rospert, Eastwood junior Clayton Ruch, and Lake junior Jake Judy, Lake Ryan Hotmer (1B), Eastwood junior Justin Bockbrader (2B), Eastwood senior Josh Zellers (SS), Eastwood junior Brett Teall (3B), Eastwood senior Luke Eschenbrenner (C), and two pitchers, Genoa junior Matt Bassitt, and Lake junior Brandon Maze.
