RHP Joel Zumaya is fighting his way back to the majors, and one stop was Toledo. Zumaya joined the Mud Hens on Saturday in Columbus.

The hard-throwing right-hander has been on the disabled list for the Tigers with a sore right shoulder since March 27. The injury put him in Single-A Lakeland to start the year and his recovery is on track as he makes the next step to returning to Detroit.

So far, Zumaya has thrown 2.1 innings and has allowed five runs (three earned) in two games. He has also walked five batters.

Zumaya looks to attack the strike zone while with Toledo and regain the command - and dominance - that made him an important piece to the Tigers' AL championship team in 2006. During that year, he had a dazzling 1.94 ERA (18 ER/83.1 IP) with 97 strikeouts. He has appeared in 15 games for Toledo throughout the last three seasons.

For tickets to any of the home games next week, call (419) 725-HENS.
