Eastwood junior Clay Rolf and Genoa senior Simone Eli were named respective boys and girls Suburban Lakes League Player of the Year.
Rolf averaged 15.2 points, 11.5 rebounds, he blocked 66 shots, and had a two-point field goal percentage of 69.2. Eli averaged 20.7 points and 4.7 assists for the Comets.
Joining Rolf on the first team from local schools is senior Jason Faykosh, Genoa junior Matt Bassitt, Gibsonburg senior Tony Egbert, and Woodmore senior Chris Jacobson.
Second team choices include Genoa junior John Lester, Gibsonburg senior T.J. Bowen, and Lake senior Anthony Lumbreras.
Honorable mention choices include Eastwood junior Clayton Ruch, Eastwood senior Mark Schult, Genoa junior Richard Wonnell, Gibsonburg junior Lee Renner, Lake junior Alex Cordell, Woodmore junior Justin Garver, and Woodmore senior Robert Schumacher.
Eastwood won the league championship with a 14-0 record, the first time in school history that the Eagles went through the SLL schedule undefeated. Following the Eagles were Genoa (10-4), Elmwood (10-4), Woodmore (7-7), Otsego (7-7), Gibsonburg (5-9), Lakota (2-12), and Lake (1-13).
Eli, who is headed to play basketball at Bowling Green State University on a full scholarship and is the daughter of Genoa assistant coach Art Eli, is joined locally on the first team by Eastwood senior Brooke Gottfried, Gibsonburg senior Katie Jones, Lake sophomore Kaysie Brittenham, and Lake senior Rebekah Will.
Second team choices include Genoa sophomore Jessica Feller, Gibsonburg senior Emily Clark, Lake senior Heather Cox, Lake junior Kimberly Meyer, and Woodmore senior Megan Bitter.

Lake won its first SLL title in school history with a perfect 14-0 record, plus remains undefeated after a 20-0 regular season and headed into the Division III district tournament.
Following the Flyers are Genoa (12-2), Otsego (8-6), Eastwood (7-7), Gibsonburg (7-7), Woodmore (6-8), Elmwood (2-12), and Lakota (0-14).
