Genoa football games are being broadcast live by Gabella Media, said 1995 Genoa High School graduate Gina Fielding, social media optimization specialist and mobile app service coordinator for Gabella.
“There’s huge following for Genoa football. Obviously, I was born and raised in Genoa, and we have a Facebook page where a couple guys update the page every play, and I thought, ‘Hey, this might be perfect for Genoa,’ and I went and talked to Athletic Director Mike Thomas, and he was pretty excited about it,” Fielding said.
She said it will be more than an update of each play — it will be an actual broadcast of the game with a color and play-by-play announcer. To listen, download the smart phone and computer app Toledo’s App Station.
“It’s a free app for your smart phone, and you can also listen online at ToledosAppStation.com, but the majority of the listening base listens through the app and through social media as well,” Fielding said.
Gabella Media was founded in 2012 by Fielding. It’s named after her two daughters, Isabella and Gabriella, who she says “are the driving force behind everything (I do).” Visit www.gabellamedia.com, email firstname.lastname@example.org, or call 567-694-8204.
Lake and Northwood games are also being broadcast over the internet by WRSCsports.com, which is owned by Northwood resident Al Singlar, and a Northern Buckeye Conference game of the week television broadcast is being produced by Mike Jameson of Toledo Sports Radio, which is aired on Saturday afternoons following the game on Channel 13.2 and its corresponding Time Warner and Buckeye Cable channels.
WRSC and TSR also have apps that can be downloaded so fans can listen live on smart phones or computers.
