Youths raise dollars to donate Members of Leadership Toledo’s Youth in Philanthropy Encouraging Excellence (YIPEE) recently organized a variety of fundraisers including leaf raking and an outdoor “Rock-A-Thon” held two of the coldest days of December.
In addition, with support from the Maumee and Perrysburg Cracker Barrel locations, the students worked throughout the fall raking leaves in area neighborhoods to raise more than $1,000.
Funds raised will be combined with funds collected through direct solicitation efforts to help area youth groups, educational programs and organizations dedicated to serving the youth in our community.
YIPEE is a program designed to help high school juniors and seniors who are graduates of Youth Leadership Toledo learn about community needs and the elements of thoughtful giving. The goal is to establish a foundation for a lifelong commitment to leadership, volunteerism and philanthropy.
YIPEE is funded in part by the Toledo Community Foundation and facilitated by the staff of Leadership Toledo.
