Audience members were captivated by Riedmaier’s recollections of some of the dangerous situations he encountered as a former deputy of both the Ottawa and Sandusky county sheriff's departments. He explained to the crowd that most days, police work is very routine but that everyone should show respect for law enforcement officers because they put their lives on the line every time they put on a uniform.
Riedmaier received questions about when his father Ralph Reidmaier was the sheriff of Ottawa County and what it was like for him and his family to live at the jail.
