For some time, Jeanne Tyler had been having a hankering for a good steak dinner.
On March 18, the staff at Perrysburg Commons, where Jeanne has resided since April 2012, fulfilled her “heart’s desire.”
The Heart’s Desire program at Perrysburg Commons and other HCR Manorcare facilities nationwide, gives residents the chance to fulfill their wishes, with the helpful planning and support from the staff and surrounding community. Thousands of Heart’s Desires have been granted since the program’s inception in 1997.
Jeanne, a Toledo native, always liked the steak dinners at the Charcoal House, a restaurant located on Talmadge Road, which has been closed for several years.
When the staff approached her about going out to eat, she knew immediately where she wanted to go – Texas Roadhouse. She hadn’t eaten there in three or four years and had a craving for their steak dinner.
The Commons, along with Jeanne’s daughter and son-in-law, Joy and Jim Coberley, planned the night out. She enjoyed every bite of the steak, along with steak fries, Caesar salad, rolls, and a virgin pina colada.
“It was such a wonderful night out, being able to have a great meal and doing it with my family,” Tyler said.
