Three couples from the Christ Dunberger Post recently went with the Genoa Legion Post for a two-day bus trip to the National World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C.

The couples included Glenn and Doris Levy, Walter and Jean Rettenberger and Joy and Lydia Poddany. “Everyone was so friendly at the memorial,” Mrs. Levy said. “They take time to shake hands and thank our husbands for serving our country. They always offered to take our pictures together.”

The group also visited the Korean War Memorial. “There are 2,200 veterans’ pictures on the wall,” Mrs. Levy said. “It was an emotional time.

The local contingent also enjoyed a bus tour of other Washington, D.C. landmarks and buildings.

“We want to thank Genoa Legion for a good trip and many memories,” Mrs. Levy said.
