Recent changes in the federal ruling on Energy Efficient Tax Credits will impact the HVAC Tax Credits for 2009.

As part of the stimulus bill signed into law by President Obama, significant changes impacting the energy efficient tax credits were passed. The tax credit has been extended to include 2009 and 2010 for HVAC products. Minimum energy efficiency values have been modified and the tax credit amount has been changed from a fixed dollar amount to a percentage of total property expenditure.

Those looking to purchase heating/air conditioning equipment should seek professional tax advice before purchasing equipment.
