Clay High School senior Kari Stausmire was recently invited to Imagination Station in Toledo to help kick off the hands-on science museum’s new exhibit, “Hubble Space Telescope: New Views of the Universe.”
When she was in the fifth grade, Kari launched an effort to save Hubble and in the process earned national accolades from NASA as well as an appearance on the NBC’s Today Show.
On Sept. 25, Kari, joined by her mother, toured the Hubble exhibit, spoke with visitors about Hubble and then presented her experiences to a group of visitors.
In Kari’s honor, Imagination Station offered all Oregon students free admission on that day with proof of residency. More than 60 students and their families attended.
