COLUMBUS - Long-term care can be a costly prospect and a topic that many families fail to properly address until there is an immediate need.
October is National Long-term Care Planning Month, and the Ohio Department of Aging hopes all Ohioans will use this opportunity - and a couple of valuable free resources - to start, or build upon a solid plan for the future.

Harborside offering intense neurology rehab

Harborside Healthcare Perrysburg has announced the expansion of services to include a specialized Neuro Rehab Unit.

The unit will facilitate continuous, specialized care for the neurological patient. It is designed to meet the specific needs of short-term patients needing outpatient rehab for a stoke, exacerbation of MS or Parkinson’s or other neurological event or long-term care of chronic neurological diseases.
Disaster preparation urged for those with special needs

If you have special needs, know someone with special needs or are caring for someone with special needs, it is a good idea to think about preparing for emergencies or disaster well in advance.
What exactly is meant by special needs? Do you, someone you know or someone you take of require special medication? How about oxygen, tube feedings, dialysis or other life sustaining equipment?
