Memorial Hospital is excited to announce that the Parkinson’s Support Group has been growing. As a result of the community's outstanding participation, the group has outgrown its current venue and will soon be moving.

Effective with the July 13, 2010 meeting, Memorial Hospital will be partnering with Countryside Continuing Care Center at 1865 Countryside Drive in Fremont to hold the Support Group Meetings there.  Meetings will continue to be held on the second Tuesday of every other month at 2 p.m.  The group will meet in the Multi-Purpose room on the main floor at Countryside.

According to Lesley King, PTA, and the group’s organizer, “Each month that our group has met it has gotten larger. We started out with approximately 10 participants and over the course of the last six months have grown to nearly 30 group member.”

The Parkinson’s Support Group provides Parkinson’s affected people with education regarding the disease. Health-care professionals from Memorial, such as physical and occupational therapists, dieticians and other experts will speak at the groups. A question and answer session and social time will follow the speakers. July’s speaker is Bev Hart, R.N. from Hospice of Memorial Hospital. She will explain Home Health and Hospice services.

For more information about the Parkinson’s Support Group Meetings, please call Lesley King, PTA at 419.334.6630.
