A ribbon-cutting ceremony for the newly constructed Lake Towne Senior Village, located at 4975 Lake Towne Dr., Walbridge, will be held Jan. 21 at noon. Tours of the facility will be offered through 3 p.m.
The ribbon-cutting event has been rescheduled from its earlier date in December when the event was canceled due to inclement weather.
The new complex features two-bedroom villas, each with a fully equipped kitchen featuring an Energy Star-rated dishwasher, refrigerator and stove. Units also feature a street entrance and a back patio, central air conditioning, energy-efficient electric heat, window treatments, a walk-in closet and multiple TV cable jacks as well as high-speed Internet access. There is also a one-car attached garage for each unit.
In addition, WSOS will provide weekly five hours of senior services to residents of the complex, in partnership with the Wood County Committee on Aging.
Each two-bedroom home rents for $450-$575 per month, which includes water, sewer and trash removal. Maximum allowable income guidelines apply to applicants.
The housing development is a collaborative effort of the Miller-Valentine Group, WSOS Community Action Commission Inc., the Ohio Capital Corporation, and the Ohio Housing Finance Agency, with financing assistance from Rural Development and the Huntington Lake Towne reschedules open house for new senior housing
In addition to Walbridge village officials, others from the Ohio Rural Development office, Ohio Housing Finance Agency will participate in the ceremony along with developers of Miller-Valentine Group and WSOS Community Action Commission Inc.
