Woodmore senior gains military experience

While most high school students spend their summer having fun and being carefree, senior Brittney Wolford was busy attending an Air Force training camp for the U.S. Military.

Wolford attended the five-day camp in Colorado Springs, Colo., where she learned what it would be like to be in the U.S Air Force.

At the camp, she got a good look at the academy’s campus and learned things like the phonetic alphabet, the Air Force song and important quotes by former members.

When asked why she decided to attend this camp Wolford said that she has always wanted to attend something like this and it was a precursor to what life would be like in the Air Force.

“My favorite part was working out every morning or the flight simulator,” said Wolford.

Although she doesn’t plan to attend the academy after high school, she still described the camp as a fantastic experience.
