Clay alums hold 60th birthday celebration

Members of the Clay High School Class of 1969 celebrated their 60th birthday at lawn party hosted by Mike and Marlene Searle at their Oregon home on Aug. 13.

Though thunderstorms were forecast, the alumni enjoyed a perfect day, complete with food, reminiscing and a rousing rendition of “Happy Birthday” followed by birthday cake.

Among the attendees were Gerry Wilson, Rita Vincent, Mike and Val Wagner, John Toth, Larry Beard, Gary and Sally Breier, Sue and Dave Kimmet, Alan Graver, Gail Shiple and Ken Nagle,  Becky and Tony Hernandez, Linda and Mark Brinkley, Doug Dippman, Dave Habeger, Rod Schwierking, Doug and Gail Bumgartner, Steve Bartha, Rob and Sue Dunmeier, Sue Fishcer, Dave and Kathy Geisert, Shirley Norton,Mike and Betty Ceshi, and Butch Mahr.

Long-distance attendees included Norm and Jeaneen Bell, of Coral Gables, Fla.; Gary and Mary Lou Cordell, of Reno, Nev.; Steve and Lori Ritzenthaler, of New Carlisle, O.; Sheryal Valencic, of Tucson, Ariz.; Sharon Cooper, of Ravenna, O. and Sue Hancock, of Indianapolis, Ind.

The alumni collected $1,400 in donations to benefit the Clay High School Scholarship Fund.
