Kelsey Gahler, was elected as the 2008-09 president of the Oak Harbor Chapter of the FFA.
This was a long-awaited goal for Kelsey. Her sister Janene served as the 2004-05 chapter president. Her brother Brice held the position in the 2001-02 school year. The Gahler siblings wanted to follow in their father’s footsteps. Ed Gahler served as the Oak Harbor chapter president in 1972-73.
Kelsey, with the chapter vice president, attended the Washington Leadership Conference, held annually to train FFA members across the country in leadership skills and about the FFA mission.
The Gahler family lives and works on their Benton Township grain, cow, beef cattle and alfalfa hay farms.
