Career Night planned at Penta Dec. 6

Penta Career Center will host its annual Career Night Dec. 6 from 6 to 8 p.m. at its campus, located at 9301 Buck Rd., Perrysburg Township.

The event is specifically intended to introduce high school freshman, sophomores and juniors, middle school students and parents to the variety of career-technical training options available at Penta. Visitors are invited to attend general information presentations in the Susor auditorium at 6:30 p.m., 7 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

In addition, students interested in attending Penta during their 10th-grade year are encouraged to attend a special presentation about Penta’s Sophomore Exploratory program at 6:15 p.m. in the Susor auditorium. The program is designed for students who are interested in investigating career-technical fields before making decisions about their educational, career and life plans.

During Career Night, students and parents will be able to speak with Penta instructors, meet alumni, discuss career opportunities with representatives from business and industry and investigate post-secondary options. Some of the post-secondary institutions participating include Bowling Green State University, Owens Community College, Terra Community College and Southwestern. A representative from Ohio College Tech Prep will also be on hand to discuss opportunities for high school students to gain college credit by enrolling in one of Penta’s many Tech Prep programs. Penta offers 31 career-technical training programs for high school students during their junior and senior years of high school. In addition, the school offers several one-year program options for students during their senior year. Programs available for seniors at the Penta campus and at some satellite locations within several member school districts include Marketing and Teaching Professions.

Penta Career Center serves students in 16 school districts including Benton-Carroll-Salem, Eastwood, Genoa, Lake, Northwood, Perrysburg, Rossford, and Woodmore.
