The City of Toledo has a $48 M budget deficit, while the Toledo Public Schools district has a $35 M budget deficit. Each has placed a proposed income tax increase on the ballot for voter approval. Should the city and school district cut spending instead of asking for new taxes? Will you vote to increase income taxes?

Oregon police chase

According to media reports, Oregon police engaged in a chase of a suspected shoplifter at Meijer's. Speeds reached 50 mph on Wheeling. The chase ended in the death of the driver, a seemingly unwitting and unwilling particpant in the incident and the chase when the alleged shoplifter grabbed the wheel and pressed on the gas pedal sending the car into a telephone pole.

Should police have engaged in the chase?

Northwood will likely end its speed van, a mobile vehicle that issues citations to motorists for speeding, early next year. In addition, the city may discontinue the stationary speed and red light photo enforcement cameras installed at two intersections. Do you think they have deterred speeding and improved public safety?
