Kyle Brossia (Eastwood) closed out his University of Findlay four-year golf career in the NCAA Division II regional at Red Hawk Run in Findlay May 5-7 by shooting rounds of 81, 76, and 76.
The University of Findlay men’s golf team completed the third and final day of the 2008 NCAA Division II Great Lakes/Central Super Regional hosted by the Oilers at Red Hawk Run Golf Course in Findlay, Ohio on Wednesday, May 7.
The Oilers, who were tied for fifth after the second day, slipped to seventh in the Great Lakes Region after ending the tournament with a score of 309. For the event, the Oilers registered a team score of 905 (300, 296, 309) which was the ninth best out of the 16 teams in the two regions.
One of Brossia’s best tournaments this season was a tie for 12th at the Speiss Memorial with a 75. In 2006-07, Brossia recorded a third place finish at the UF-Outback Invitational with a score of 150, he finished 11th at the Mercyhurst Invitational wtih a 155, placed 21st at Northern Michigan with a 158, and tied for 26th with a 159 at the Bellarmine Invitational.
As a sophomore, Brossia finished tied for 26th at Wayne State. As a freshman, he averaged 80.8 strokes per match and finished eighth at the Jon P. Speiss Tournament with a score of 74. At Eastwood, he was first team all-district and a two-time player of the year in the SLL.
