Batter Up!
Oh, how we love those Hens!

The two-time Governors’ Cup Class Champion Mud Hens, the AAA affiliate of the Detroit Tigers are back for another great season of competition and fun at Fifth Third Field, located in downtown Toledo’s historic Warehouse District.

When it opened, the stadium was named the best minor league ballpark in America by Newsweek. In the summer of 2007, ESPN.com rated The Roost section of Fifth Third Field as the best seats to watch a game in minor league baseball.

The Toledo Mud Hens (lauded as the most recognizable minor league team in professional baseball) have returned for 72 thrilling home games running through Aug. 31.

The fast and the furious
The wheels will be spinning and dust will be flying as another great season starts at Toledo Speedway, 5639 Benore Rd., off the Alexis Road exit of I-75 near the Ohio-Michigan border. As in years past, this season promises thrills, spills and much excitement.

A night at the track promises ARCA racing at its best, highlighted with Night of Destruction School Bus Figure 8s (May 23); Night of Thrills: Imperial Stunt Drivers Thrill Show (July 3); Live Nation Monster Truck Shows (July 25-26); 24 Hours of LeMans (Sept. 13); and the 20th Anniversary of the Miller Lite Glass City 200 (Sept. 20t. Horsing around
Raceway Park, located at 5700 Telegraph Rd., offers live harness racing from mid-April through Oct. 26. Several special events are offered throughout the 2008 season. Races will be run Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings this year with post-times at 7 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 6 p.m. Sundays. Speed is the word in Fremont
The New Fremont Speedway, located at 2111 Hayes Ave., is offering another exciting season of open-wheel racing from mid-April through Sept. 20. Fans will be kept on the edge of their seats as cars and trucks do battle until someone emerges victorious.

Bowling for fun
No matter where you’re staying, a night at the bowling lanes is just minutes away.
