Gold stars
Bay Park Community Hospital has been recognized for its pollution prevention methods by the Practice Greenhealth, a trade organization. The hospital was awarded a Partner for Change Award for its mercury elimination, waste reduction and pollution prevention programs.

The hospital was also awarded a GOLD (Great Options in Low-fat Dining) Award from the Toledo-Lucas County Health Department. The Bay Café won the award for providing menu options that allow diners to have control over their dietary needs while promoting healthy eating habits.

The residents of Perrysburg Care and Rehabilitation Center rank the center as “excellent” or “good” when it comes to two key factors: overall satisfaction and recommending the center to others.

The survey was conducted by My InnerView Inc. (MIV), a third-party applied research company. 

The care center voluntarily participates in the annual survey conducted in April. Perrysburg provides skilled nursing services for up to 95 residents. The care center has been part of the Perrysburg community since 1984 and is located at Starbright Boulevard and SR 795.

SunBridge Healthcare Corporation, operator of Perrysburg Care and Rehabilitation Center, is headquartered in Irvine, California.

Genoa Chevrolet has received word from GM that it has been identified as a key dealer and will be retained in its dealer network.


Up the ladder
Tom Wulf has been promoted to mortgage loan officer at First Federal Bank in Genoa. He has been with First Federal since March 2001. In his position, he is responsible for the origination of mortgage and home equity loans as well as the duties performed by the assistant branch manager.

Wulf earned his Associates Degree in Business Management from Owens Community College and is a member of the Genoa Area Chamber of Commerce, Village of Genoa Audit Committee and is the Treasurer for the Genoa Area Local Schools Levy Committee. He resides in Curtice.


Golf
Hidden Hills will host its 29th annual ladies day golf outing Wednesday, July 15. The event will raise funds for the Alzheimer Association. Sponsors, donors and teams can call the club at 419-849-3693.

Schools & skills
Dr. Robin Swaim of Oregon was recently certified in Chiropractic Instrument Adjusting at the Neuromechanical System seminar held in Columbus.

The technique incorporates the use of hand-held impulse to apply treatment to muscles and joints.
