Opportunity knocks

Tom Deitemyer has joined Witt & Gaines as an estimator. He has more than 28 years experience in the heating, ventilating and air conditioning field and has worked as an installer, service technician, estimator and wholesaler.

Deitemyer previously worked for his father, Ed, at Johnnie’s Electric Service before buying the business with his brother. He is a Woodmore and Ohio State graduate.

He will replace David Witt, who is retiring. Witt & Gaines is located in Oak Harbor.

Golf

The Little Sisters of the Poor will host its Third Annual Jim Smythe Golf Outing Friday, September 5 at Toledo Country Club. All funds raised will support the Little Sisters and their mission of caring for the elderly poor. The East Toledo-Oregon Kiwanis will hold its annual scholarship golf outing Friday, July 25 at Eagles Landing Golf Course. Players, sponsors and donations are sought. Call John Eisenhart at 419-346-0231.

The ninth annual event raises scholarship money for students at Clay, Waite, Cardinal Stritch, Northwood and Lake high schools.

The National Bank of Oak Harbor and GenoaBank will co-sponsor their 10 th Annual Scholarship Golf Outing Friday, September 12 at the Oak Harbor Golf Club. The annual golf scramble provides scholarships to local students planning to major in business at a two or four-year college or university.

Shotgun starts will begin at 8:00 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. The entry fee is $260.00 per team. To organize afoursome or make a donation contact Marie Truman at 419-898-5741 or Joyce Harrison at 419-855-8381.

The Ottawa County Improvement Corporation will host its annual Experience Ottawa County gathering August 21 and 22. The marketing event will showcase the county to existing businesses and businesses looking to relocate. Fishing, golf, sightseeing and more are planned. The right thing

GenoaBank raised $1,975 to fight cancer when it participated in the Annual Western Ottawa County Relay for Life held recently at Oak Harbor High School.
