Volunteer efforts applauded
To the editor: I want to thank publicly all the volunteers from the Walbridge Centennial Committee for their hard work and dedication in planning all the events this summer for our 100th anniversary.

Special thanks go to Darlene Limmer, Centennial President, and Melanie Bowen, for pulling all the volunteers together and giving them direction and purpose.

The fundraisers they planned included a sock hop, Bob Evans day, and a Pub Crawl, where a percentage of sales were given back. They also sold t-shirts, souvenir history booklets, cookbooks and other things that raised enough money to pay not only for our Centennial Day, but also a baseball game and fireworks to be held Aug. 10.

Walbridge needs the expertise from these volunteers and the volunteers from Walbridge Fest to hold events in our village for the enjoyment of our residents and neighboring communities. Village council hopes the combined efforts of both organizations can continue in partnership for future events.
