To the editor: This is leadership?
Gov. Kasich wants to saddle the Ohio Turnpike with up to $1.5 billion in new debt in order to fix bridges and roads because the state is unable to keep up with the repairs.
Now we are getting a proposal to increase the weight limit on trucks. If we are unable to keep up with repairs now, just what do they think the added weight will do to the roads and bridges in the future?
The federal government is doing its best to put you and me in small cars, while the state wants to put heavier trucks on the road. This will make our drive to work even more exciting.
