COSI: Make the $5 bet on these high-tech manufacturing jobs

Before you touch the screen on the COSI levy, ask yourself this question. Are you willing to bet $5 that more local jobs will be created in the solar and green energy fields than in the auto industry?

That’s new jobs.

If you think the auto industry will drive future growth, vote no and buy five lottery tickets. You have as much chance to win today as the auto industry has in creating new jobs in Northwest Ohio.

All gave some, some gave all."

Saturday was a perfect Fall day to honor eight men who gave all for their country. The sun was shining, the air cool and the dieing leaves ablaze with color.

That it took 40 years is both understandable and a shame. Among the lessons of the Vietnam War is that America has learned to separate the politics of war from support for our troops. Had we known that then, we wouldn't have called our returning vets baby killers and spat on them.

It’s almost as easy for a minor to buy alcohol in Oregon as it is for an adult.

Seven of 10 stores targeted by the Oregon Police Department in its latest sting sold beer to an underage buyer working undercover.

In three stings this year an astonishing 16 clerks or wait staff have been charged with selling to minors.
