It’s surprising how many people drag themselves around each day with a look and feeling of misery. Rather than appreciating each and every moment, they dwell on problems and unhappiness.
It’s such a shame to feel life must be endured rather than enjoyed. Every day really is a great day. It’s not your days that vary, it’s your attitude that fluctuates. A negative outlook always obscures the view. When you tell your mind there is nothing but suffering, it believes you and constantly strives to fulfill your negative expectations.
Conversely, your mind also believes you when you tell it life is a joy. It then works non-stop to fulfill your positive expectations. Since your mind doesn’t discriminate as to what it believes, what you tell it determines how good your day will be.
You mind functions as a magnet that attracts whatever you think about. Positive thoughts attract positive people and circumstances, whereas negative thoughts attract negative people and circumstances.
Having a great day is not dependent on being problem free. Everyone has problems. There’s no escaping adversity. You will always have challenges to overcome. Everyday is great because it affords you another opportunity to solve your problems while enjoying all of the wonderful things in your life.
Many of the happiest, most grateful people are not the ones you would expect. They don’t have the most money, the easiest jobs, or the fewest problems. Often they have much less money than you, tougher jobs, and more problems.
What makes them appreciate each and every day is that they concentrate on what they do have rather than dwelling on what may be missing. For them, there is no joy too small to go unrecognized. They don’t worry about the past or the future. They simply savor each and every moment of each and every day.
If you are not as happy as you would like to be, only you can change your outlook. Don’t become trapped waiting for circumstances to change before you become happy. When you are happy, your circumstances will start to change for the better. So don’t wait to feel happy before you smile, smile and you will begin to feel happier.
Every day is a great day because you have so much to be thankful for. Focus on the present. Don’t lament the past or worry about the future. As you cultivate this positive outlook, you will experience numerous benefits. Each day will be filled with more joy, excitement, and fulfillment.
You can look forward to increased energy and enthusiasm. Your motivation will improve. Your mind will be receptive to new ideas. You will be more relaxed with less stress.
Every day is a great day because you are in control of your life. If you think like a victim you will feel and act like a victim. Everyone makes bad decisions at times. These mistakes are countered by making good decisions. You have the power to make things happen. Those who wait for things to happen are perpetually disappointed.
Each night before going to sleep, fill your mind with the anticipation of waking to a brand new great day filled with limitless potential. Direct your thoughts to all of the good things that you will attract.
When you wake, begin each great by going through a list of all that you are thankful for. Get out of bed with a positive spirit and enthusiasm. Look in the mirror and smile. After all, having a great day beats all the alternatives.
