Efficiency Smart, in conjunction with its participating municipal electric systems, will host a contractor and vendor seminar Tuesday, April 17, 11:30 a.m. to 1p.m. at the American Legion Hall in Pemberville.

Efficiency Smart works with contractors, suppliers, manufacturers, designers and installers to complete energy-efficient upgrades.

A good sign?
New car sales in Lucas County for the first quarter are up from 4,910 to 5,272, a 7.4 percent increase, according to Bernie Quilter, Lucas County Clerk of Courts.

The right thing
Jeff Pettit of Artistic Memorials recently presented a check to Ret. Capt. David Chilson representing Honor Flight of Northwest Ohio. The check for $1,500 is from a percentage of sales pledged during the month of February for the 10th anniversary of Artistic Memorials in Perrysburg.

Artistic Memorials has been in business for 10 years and Mr. Pettit is a lifelong resident of Lake Township.

Gold stars
Genoa Chevrolet will receive the Dealer Recognition Award Plaque from the Chevrolet Division of General Motors for its performance in the 2011 Mark of Excellence program.

Genoa Motors was recently awarded The 2011 President’s Award from Ford Motor Company which is presented to less than the top 10 percent of Ford and Lincoln dealerships.

Both dealerships are owned by Terry Paul.
