Bank offers aid to homeowners with hardships
GenoaBank, has become a participant lender in the Restoring Stability: Save the Dream Ohio Initiative, according to a company press release.

The Restoring Stability: Save the Dream Ohio Initiative aims to help 26,000 Ohio homeowners. The program was designed to assist homeowners with financial hardships who have previously been unable to qualify for existing loan modification and foreclosure prevention programs.

Through the Ohio Housing Finance Agency, the state of Ohio received $320 million in federal assistance for the Restoring Stability program. The agency is self-supporting and utilizes federal and state resources to provide housing opportunities through programs designed to develop, preserve and sustain affordable housing.

Assistance is offered to homeowners who have a temporary or permanent reduction in income. The initiative offers four program options for homeowners including: partial mortgage payment assistance, rescue payment assistance, modification assistance with principal reduction and transitional assistance.
