St. Charles Hospital names new president

 Craig Albers has been named president of Mercy Health – St. Charles Hospital, effective July 13.  He began his career with Mercy Health as a registered nurse in the intensive care unit at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima in 1999.

He was  a house supervisor at St. Rita’s in 2001 and took on additional responsibility as the clinical shift supervisor, clinical nurse manager, director of care coordination to the nursing administrator role at St. Rita’s prior to moving into an interim chief nursing officer position at Mercy Health – Defiance.  From there, Craig took the director of patient care position at Mercy Health – St. Charles before accepting his most current role of chief nursing officer in 2014.

Law enforcement lauded

 Four law enforcement departments were recognized by GenoaBank June 26 during a reception held at the bank’s Millbury branch.  Officers from the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office, Lake Township Police Department, Clay Township Police Department and Genoa Police Department were presented with proclamations signed by the bank’s board of directors.

The proclamations were made “in recognition and profound appreciation of distinguished service.”  Martin Sutter, president and chief executive officer of the bank, said the officers hold “significant civic and law enforcement responsibilities and put their lives at risk to protect us each day, at times facing some of the most adverse circumstances imaginable.”

 In May, officers from the agencies caught two men who had broken into an ATM machine at the branch.

Open house for Edward Jones office

 Dylan Clement, an advisor with the financial services firm Edward Jones, invites the public to attend an open house from 9 a.m. to noon on June 30 at 3971 Navarre Ave., Oregon.  "We are happy to be part of the Oregon community and would like to express our appreciation for the confidence and support we receive year round," Clement said.  A ribbon cutting ceremony is scheduled to begin at 11:30 a.m.  Coffee and donuts will be served.

 Edward Jones is headquartered in St. Louis.
