Genoa Area Kiwanis Halloween Costume winners

        The 2018 Genoa Area Kiwanis Costume Contest, held Oct. 29, drew 158 participants.

        Winners included:

        Preschool age 1-2:

        Huggable: Asher Cornelius, Eddie Woss, Nash Rankin;

        Prettiest: Kennedy Belsky, Haxlugh Marquis, Nixon Lachey;

        Storybook/Nursery Rhyme/ TV: Brendan Schuetze, Lydia Geldene, Cole Kruse;

Creative Original: Brendan Schultze; Jalen Jackson, Samson Nutter.

Elmore Legion announces Halloween Contest winners

        The 44th Annual Halloween Parade and Contest sponsored by the Elmore American Legion Post 279 and the Auxiliary was held Oct. 29 at Woodmore High School.

        The Woodmore High School Marching Band led the parade. The 60 contestants enjoyed cider and doughnuts served by the Auxiliary after the judging.

        The overall grand prize winner was Nora Schlea, dressed as a pot of spaghetti and meatballs.

“Guardian of Small Business”

        Congressman Bob Latta (R-Bowling Green) has been named a “Guardian of Small Business” by the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB).

        Latta received the award based on his 100 percent pro-small business voting record. Legislation that Latta has supported that would help small businesses include the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, a Balanced Budget Amendment, and H.R. 6311, a bill to lower health insurance costs and increase health insurance options for small businesses.
