Oak Harbor Chamber welcomes members, 2019 officers

        The Oak Harbor Area Chamber of Commerce welcomed newly elected members and officers to their volunteer Board of Directors at the annual dinner held Jan. 25.

        The volunteers and community leaders work as ambassadors for the chamber, interpreting the mission of the organization and advancing its position.

        New directors joining the board for a three-year term include, Kathy Cochran, with Koepke Insurance, and Marie Darr, with Designs By Marie.

Ottawa Co. Community Foundation gearing up for 2019

        The Ottawa County Community Foundation, Inc. recently held its annual organizational meeting.

        Elected officers for 2019 include Joy Roth – president; Jan Preston – vice president; Marcia Jess – secretary and John Madison – treasurer.

        In addition, Paul Druckenmiller, Deb Harmeyer and Gary Kohli were re-elected to three-year terms on the board of directors. Arlyn Bensch, from Oak Harbor, was approved as the newest board member. He will begin his three-year term in March, bringing the board roster to 14 members.

Dancing with the Stars

        The 11th season of Ottawa County Dancing with the Stars wrapped up on Saturday night, Nov. 17, at the Sunrise Banquet Hall in Millbury.

        Six local stars paired with professional dancers to raise funds for the Ottawa County Family Advocacy Center. The stars included Jill Cecil, Jennifer Collins, Angela LeForce, Joe Miller, Jim Recker and Frank Swinehart.
