Elmore Legion announces Halloween Contest winners

        The 44th Annual Halloween Parade and Contest sponsored by the Elmore American Legion Post 279 and the Auxiliary was held Oct. 29 at Woodmore High School.

        The Woodmore High School Marching Band led the parade. The 60 contestants enjoyed cider and doughnuts served by the Auxiliary after the judging.

        The overall grand prize winner was Nora Schlea, dressed as a pot of spaghetti and meatballs.

       The winners, in first-, second- and third-place order, were as follows:

        Ages 0-2 years:

        Monsters/Witches/Ghosts: Tyce Recker.

        Disney characters: Finn St. John, Zane Langenfelder, Ava St. John.

        Most Creative/Misc.: Nora Schlea, Korbin Behlmer, Paris Tingely.

        Ages 3-7 years:

        Monsters/Witches/Ghosts: Evan Webb, Wyatt Prucnal, Alayna Trouten,

        Comic Book: Cooper Martin, Colton Gross, Eli Wallace.

        Disney Characters: Everleigh Army, TJ Cunningham, Brody Martin.

        Most Creative/Misc: Gunner Harris, Grady Boss, Kate Tucker.

       Ages 8-10 years:

        Monsters/Witches/Ghosts: Miyanna Gardner, Andersyn Cummings,. Cole Potridge.

        Disney Characters: Danny Dickerson, Madison Jagielski, Luke Geldine.

       Most Creative/Misc.: Abbey Tucker, Lexi Martin, Kelsey Gyuras

Genoa receives recognition

        The Village of Genoa was honored for its achievements during the past year at the 2018 American Municipal Power (AMP)/Ohio Municipal Electric Association (OMEA) Conference.

        The village received a Safety Award in the Transmission and Distribution category in recognition of no time lost due to reportable injuries or accidents.

        The annual AMP/OMEA Conference, held in Cleveland Sept. 24-27, was attended by more than 300 municipal officials and industry representatives, with speakers from various national organizations.
