Liz Cheney to speak

        Liz Cheney, conference chair of the House GOP and highest-ranking Republican woman in Congress, will be the featured speaker at his 2019 Lincoln-Reagan Day Dinner Monday, April 15, at 6:30 p.m. at Sauder Village in Archbold.

        “As Chair of the GOP Conference, Congresswoman Cheney is on the front lines delivering the message of lower taxes, strong borders, and protecting our Constitutional rights,” said Congressman Bob Latta. “With Nancy Pelosi leading the most liberal House of Representatives in our history, standing up for what we believe in has never been more important. At a time when Democrats are pushing to implement policies like the Green New Deal, Medicare for All, and a rollback of our 2nd Amendment rights, we welcome Liz to Ohio's 5th Congressional District to speak on how Republicans can win the debate in Ohio and across the country."

Police academy

        The Oregon Police Division will hold its Citizen Police Academy beginning Monday, March 18, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. It will run for 10 weeks. Citizens attending will ;earn about the police’s daily operations, crime prevention, criminal investigations, road patrol tactics, self-defense and many other police related topics.

        The academy is a hands-on, educational training program taught by Oregon police officers, who offer citizens a chance to learn what police officers really do. The academy is offered to people 18 years old and older, who possession a valid Ohio drivers license and pass a background check.

        Preference will be given to applicants who reside or work in Oregon. Class size is limited to 20 participants. The academy will be held on Monday evenings at the Oregon Police Division Training Center, 1500 DuPont Road, Oregon. To register, or for more information, contact Sgt. Lewandowski, Bossie

to speak at dinner

        Mark Wagoner, Chairman, Lucas County Republican Party, has announced that the 2019 Lincoln Day Dinner with guest speakers Corey Lewandowski and David Bossie will be held Wednesday, Feb. 27 at The Premier Banquet Complex, 4480 Heatherdowns Blvd. in Toledo.

        The evening, organized by the Lucas County Republican Women’s Club and Chaired by Dee Talmage, will start with a private reception with Lewandowski and Bossie from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Guests can view and bid the silent auction tables beginning at 6 p.m. The program and dinner begin at 7 p.m.
