        The Luckey Police Department has adopted and implemented state standards established by the Ohio Collaborative Community-Police Advisory Board as part of the state’s efforts to strengthen community and police relations.

        More than 500 agencies employing more than 27,000 officers (in all 88 counties representing nearly 80 percent of all law enforcement officers in Ohio in most of Ohio’s metropolitan areas) are either certified or in the process of becoming certified by meeting standards for the use of force, including deadly force, and agency recruitment and hiring.

Valentine deliveries

        Heartland of Oregon, Perrysburg Commons Retirement Center, and Heartland of Perrysburg are offering a complimentary box of cookies with delivery for Valentine’s Day.

        Recipients must be 65 or older and reside in the Oregon ZIP code of 43616 or the Perrysburg ZIP code, 43551. Deliveries will be made the week of Feb. 12.

Quilters to meet

        Maumee Bay Country Quilt Guild will meet Tuesday, Feb. 6 at 6 p.m. at Northwood Church of God, 3375 Curtice Rd., Northwood.

        Lisa Spalding, owner of The Quilt Foundry in Maumee and a professional longarm quilter will be the guest speaker.

        Visitors are welcome. The $10 meeting fee will go toward the membership of $35 if attendees opt to join the guild.

        Meetings are held the first Tuesday of each month (meetings are canceled if Oregon City or the Northwood school district is closed).
