Marijuana seized
Agents from the Ottawa County Drug Task Force and an Ottawa County Sheriffs deputy on May 13 seized 105 marijuana plants in Portage Township after receiving an anonymous tip about the location of an outdoor marijuana plot.

The plot was located near State Road and the State Route 2 overpass. The plants were in the early growth stages and were protected by wire mesh. The estimated seizure amount is $1,000 per plant.

The seized plants had been well taken care of and would have likely produced more than 1 pound of processed marijuana per plant, according to task force estimates.

The task force also found remnants of a grow area from the previous year.
