The Press Newspaper

Since we’ve started our eBay service, The Press has gotten in some top-notch stuff, but Ron Johns did something very remarkable last week.

He went 10 for 10 – every item he placed with us was sold. This is a new record for our Internet-selling site; no one has ever achieved that sort of success with us.

Do you remember?
As time slips by, so can our memories. Here are a few tidbits of information from past pages of The Press.

May 1983: 25 years ago
• Genoa resident Allen Bell finished the Boston Marathon in three hours, 42 minutes and 49 seconds, placing well among the estimated 10,000 runners.

• Matrix Vision of Suburban Toledo announced that their cable television operations would soon be expanding to Clay Center, Gibsonburg and other areas. (Whatever happened to this company?)

GENOA – If the familiar old adage that suggests that every picture tells a story is true, then Larry Reetz could be telling a good many stories come next holiday season.

Reetz, a self-described local history buff, is co-creator of a forthcoming, as-yet-untitled coffee table book that will look to trace Genoa’s rich, yet sometimes-surprising roots.
