 After plenty of debate and some contentious moments, Oak Harbor council, with the help of Mayor Joe Helle, has decided to lift its moratorium on medical marijuana.  The 3-3 council vote was broken by Mayor Helle, who voted in favor of the ordinance lifting the moratorium.

 A resolution to begin the process of placing a millage request on the November ballot to fund emergency medical service in Lake Township will be on the agenda of the township trustees’ July 5 meeting, Mark Hummer, township administrator, said last week.

 The township contracts with LifeStar for 24-hour service. The current contract will expire in April 2018.

 Members of the Woodmore school board intend to fill the position of superintendent before the start of the coming school year, Corinna Bench, board president, said last week.

 After a brief executive session, the school board Tuesday unanimously approved a resolution to accept the resignation of Robert Yenrick as superintendent.  He was scheduled to officially assume his duties on July 1.
