Toledo Mud Hens The Toledo Mud Hens, the Triple A minor league team of the Detroit Tigers, plays home baseball games from April through September at Fifth Third Field in Toledo’s Warehouse District. Fans get the chance to see future major leaguers as well as current major leaguers sent down for rehab or to better hone their skills.

Toledo Walleye The Toledo Walleye, an ECHL hockey league affiliate of the Detroit Red Wings and the Chicago Blackhawks, play from October until spring at the new $105 million, 8,000-seat Huntington Center in downtown Toledo. The Walleye posted a 35-30-7 record and made the first round of the playoffs in their inaugural 2009-2010 season. A total of 234,220 fans turned out to see the new team, which included a dozen sellouts.

Raceway Park Watch live harness racing from the enclosed grandstand with restaurant or from trackside at Raceway Park. Racing goes from mid-April to Oct. 24 this season. Post times are 6 p.m. Saturdays and 5 p.m. Sundays, when you can enjoy Super Savings Sundays with $1 prices for admission, programs, hot dogs and soda until closing. The track also offers buffets, live simulcasts of races elsewhere -- including the Preakness and Kentucky Derby -- and hosts summertime concerts and cookouts.

ARCA/ Toledo Speedway ARCA/Toledo Speedway features ARCA-sanctioned, late-model stock car, factory stocks and sportsman racing on Friday nights from April through October. Toledo Speedway has long been known for being one of the best short tracks in the country with its half-mile semi-banked oval and quarter-mile figure eight in the middle. Special events include a monster truck show July 23-24 and the 22nd running of the Glass City 200 on Oct. 2.

Fremont Speedway The Fremont Speedway, located at the Sandusky County Fairgrounds, plays host to exciting open-wheel racing just about every Saturday night April to September. Races at “The Track That Action Built” keep fans on the edge of their seats as 410 and 305 sprint cars and trucks battle wheel to wheel, sliding around the third-mile semi-banked clay oval. Racing is planned every Saturday night in 2010 except May 22, June 19, July 17 and Aug. 21. Gates open at 4 p.m. and racing begins at 7 p.m.

Summit Motorsports Park Top alcohol fuel dragsters and funny cars with 8,000 horsepower engines scream down the track from zero to 300 mph at Summit Motorsports Park. Racing is held on Fridays and Saturdays and sometimes Sundays from April through October. Wednesdays are Hot Norwalk Nights until the end of September. Special events include the Cavalcade of Stars in May, Pinks: All Out and the Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals in June, the nostalgic Gasser reunion and Night Under Fire in July, the Goodguys Blue Suede Cruise in August, and more.

Glow bowling requires that patrons play in the dark, the better to see the luminescent glowing bowling balls as they roll down the alley.
