Tall? Grande? Venti?

Sure, it might sound a bit more cosmopolitan to order a “venti” cup of joe, but for many coffee lovers, choosing among good old small, medium and large just seems a bit easier.

Marvin Belknap, owner of The Coffee Shop in Oregon, agrees, however he’s made sure patrons have no shortage of tasty choices at the shop, located at 3555 Navarre Ave., in Oregon.

A true “coffee house,” the shop offers latte, cappuccino, espresso, and regular and decaf coffee. There are also café mocha and white mocha and the house specialty, the Coffee Shop Mocha.

Coffee not your cup of tea? A wide range of tea selections is also available.

Enjoy your beverage with a scone or muffin, a bagel or croissant sandwich. “I’m planning on adding breakfast sandwiches in the future as well,” Belknap said.

“And just about everything on our menu we can do frozen or over ice,” Belknap said, adding that the shop also offers a wide array of fruit smoothies, along with flavored Italian sodas and iced tea.

If you don’t see it on the menu, don’t be shy - just ask – the shop’s baristas say they’re happy to take special requests from customers.

“We’ve tried to create an atmosphere where students can come in to study, business professionals can come in and make calls and work on their laptops and people can just bring their newspaper or their book or meet a friend for a cup of coffee and some conversation,” Belknap said.

He adds that he and his wife took great care to choose a warm décor, adding assorted tables and chairs, inviting seating areas with comfy leather furniture, flat-panel TVs, Sirius radio and a fireplace. Photographs and artwork from local artists adorn the walls.

The shop also offers free Wi-Fi Internet access and fax and copy services are available.

But perhaps the most important aspect to consider in setting up shop was choosing a great coffee, Belknap said. “We actually visited coffee roasters in Columbus, Cleveland, Wauseon and Findlay and we chose Crimson Cup out of Columbus, mainly because it had a really good flavor to it, and we thought it would go over well here.” Crimson Cup syrups are also served in various flavors in regular and sugar-free varieties.

For those in a hurry, The Coffee Shop offers a drive-up window.
