Oregon is considering funding an expansion of the senior center on Bayshore Road to accommodate plans for more activities and services there.
 
“We believe that with the resources the city has available, we’ll have the funds to devote to an upgrade of facilities,” said Administrator Mike Beazley. “It’s ultimately council’s decision during the budget process next month.”

The cost of living at Riverview Healthcare Campus near Oak Harbor is going up next month.
 
The Ottawa County Commissioners recently voted unanimously to raise prices from $220 to $232 for a semi private room and from $240 to $252 for a private room. The change takes effect Nov. 1.

Oregon Mayor Mike Seferian and challenger Tom Susor on Wednesday debated issues ranging from how to lure new businesses, reduce crime, and enhance economic development efforts to how to improve drainage, attract tourism, and make the city a more desirable place to live in their bid to become the next mayor.
 
Seferian, seeking re-election to a second term, and Susor, who is council president, appeared before a crowd of about 70 in the auditorium at Mercy St. Charles Hospital in the scheduled debate.

When you think of a tractor pull, you envision a farmer driving a tractor and pulling a really, big load. Imagine a six-year-old girl doing the same thing, only without an engine, just pedaling, and competing nationally.
 
Granted, a young girl cannot pull anywhere near the amount of weight that a tractor can, but it can be just as entertaining to watch.
