The Rotary has sponsored a "Breakfast with Santa" at Clay High School for the past 7-8 years and has donated funds to the Challenger Learning Center for the past several years. The Rotary has also donated funds to Polio Plus for many years.
Last year the Oregon-Northwood Rotary Club, which was sponsored in 1987, distributed dictionaries to third grade students in the Oregon and Northwood school districts. Each of the approximately 300 dictionaries was inscribed with each student's name.
Muffler, 57, has been the director since the Challenger Center opened in 2003.
Prior to this position she spent three years as manager of the Chabot Space & Science Center in Oakland, Calif.
Her next position will be as the deputy director with NASA's education specialist program at Penn State University in State College, Pa.
The meeting will be held at 6 p.m. in the media center at Clay High School.
The board will also discuss how to appropriate funds from a permanent improvement levy voters passed in November. The district will start collecting the revenue in January, according to Jeff Ziviski, vice president of the school board.
