Obama had been staying at the lodge in Oregon since Sunday, Oct. 12, to prepare for his final debate with Republican presidential candidate Sen. John McCain at Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York on Wednesday.
The Press has learned that Jerusalem Township Trustee Rodney Graffis must repay the township $20,174.04 for health insurance reimbursements he illegally received for health insurance coverage, according to a 2007 state audit.
The report, released on Thursday by the Ohio State Auditor’s Office, stated Graffis was already getting health insurance coverage through his union.
Virginia Todd sued the city in the early 1990s after she was passed over for a promotion for lieutenant, despite earning the highest score on the promotional exam. A male officer, instead, was promoted to lieutenant. Todd eventually was promoted to lieutenant after a court ruled in her favor.
The city’s Public Utilities and Environmental Committee this summer unanimously recommended to council that the city install its own monitoring wells in response to the Ohio EPA’s Notice of Violations to Envirosafe earlier this year regarding leachate levels in Cell M, Envirosafe’s only active hazardous waste cell, and the inspections of the dewatering trenches and water line trench.
