Jerusalem Township trustees voted 2-1 at a meeting March 24 to drop health insurance coverage and training costs for elected officials and full-time employees to cut expenses.

Trustees Rodney Graffis and Joe Gray voted to end health care coverage and out-of-town training expenses. Trustee Joe Kiss was opposed.

Low levels of contamination were found in monitoring wells the city installed last year in the right-of-way of the Envirosafe Services of Ohio, Inc., landfill, according to a final report issued by ARCADIS.

ARCADIS, Oregon’s consulting engineer, installed four monitoring wells to determine if harmful substances in Envirosafe’s historic landfills migrated off-site into the right-of-way along York Street, Old Millard Avenue and Otter Creek Road.

An arrest warrant has been issued in an on-going investigation of a drug case in Wood County, Sheriff Mark Wasylyshyn said last week.

The warrant stems from a March 17 raid by the county’s drug task force at a Lake Township home where officers seized approximately 941 pounds of marijuana.

An informational meeting for residents and property owners in the Stony Ridge and Lemoyne areas in Troy Township to discuss a sanitary sewer project is scheduled for April 22 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 5520 Fremont Pike.
