Oregon council acts on several infrastructure projects

Oregon City Council last Monday approved ordinances for several infrastructure projects.

Council authorized the purchase of property and structures at 1053 South Wheeling Street for $237,150, plus a $73,250 payment for relocation and moving expenses, from Raymond and Helen Bihn for the Wheeling Street improvement project.

Public Service Director Paul Roman said the cost includes a main house, a duplex, and two garages.

 
Meetings set for ‘monumental’ farm program

The executive director of the Sandusky County Farm Service Agency says a new alternative payment program for growers represents a “monumental change of looking at the farm safety net.”

W. Todd Warner has scheduled public meetings to discuss the Average Crop Revenue Election (ACRE) program for April 28, 29, and 30 at the county FSA office, 2000 Countryside Drive, Fremont.

 
Oregon joins BORMA health insurance pool

Oregon has joined the Buckeye Ohio Risk Management Association (BORMA), which jointly pools resources with other municipalities to provide health insurance and prescription coverage to its employees.

The city currently has 175 employees presently participating in its insurance program.
